Originally from Aguada, Puerto Rico, Melvin moved to South Florida when he was eight years old. He graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and earned his Certificate in Financial Planning at Florida State University. Melvin is bilingual and speaks fluent Spanish and English. As a devout Christian, he volunteers as a group leader in Celebrate Recovery, a Christian counseling program. He enjoys bike riding, jogging and going to the beach with his family, and taking his Harley Davidson out for a drive.
